CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
The mission of Southside Baptist Church’s Children’s Ministry is to partner with families to lay a Christ-centered foundation in the hearts of children. We are committed to teaching biblical truths in age-appropriate ways to help children know Jesus, grow in their faith, and develop a life-long relationship with Him. We seek to nurture each child’s spiritual journey in a safe, loving, joy-filled environment.
SUNDAY ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
Children’s Check-In
Security is a top priority here at Southside. For that reason, children (infant through 5th grade) must be checked in each time they are left in our care. If your child is staying with you during Sunday worship, there is no need to check them in. Children’s Check-In is located at “The Haven”. If it’s your first time with us, we are happy to assist you with check-in. Each child receives a printed sticker with their name, any allergies, and a unique code. Their parents also receive a separate sticker with the child’s name and matching code. The matching parents’ sticker must be presented to a Children’s Worship or Nursery volunteer in order to pick up a child after service.
Nursery
Babies-3k will be cared for in the nursery which is located downstairs in “The Haven” after being checked in either in by a member of our team. Nursery is provided during Sunday Worship.
Connection Groups
We offer children’s connection groups for babies-5th grade beginning at 9:15AM. Babies-3k meet downstairs and 4k-5th meet upstairs in The Haven. Children aged 4k-5th grade must be picked up after connection groups to attend our family-style worship.
Children’s Worship
Here at Southside, we have a family-style worship service. Children (4K through 3rd grade) leave the service at a designated time each Sunday to attend Children’s Worship in “The Haven,” where they will experience age-appropriate biblical teaching and activities.
AWANA
AWANA is for children 2 years of age through 5th grade on Sunday evenings during the school year from 5:30PM-7:15PM. AWANA focuses on biblical teaching and scripture memorization, designed to help children understand and apply biblical truths. Please visit “The Hub” for start times and registration.
WEDNESDAY ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
Mission Friends / Children on Mission
On Wednesday evenings at 6:15PM, we offer Mission Friends for 3k-5k. Mission Friends aims to introduce young children to the concept of missions and help them develop a heart for serving others. We also offer Children on Mission for 1st-5th grade. This program encourages children to learn about missions, pray for missionaries, support missions, and share the message of Jesus.
